Conservation Station

Take the Wildlife Express to this slice of the real world
(unusual for Disney, but they quite rightly deemed it important)
to see care and conservation in action. A real " behind-
the scenes at Animal Kingdom" treat.
Affection Section - Some interesting breeds of domesticated (not wild) animals who absolutely love all the attention and handling. Aaaahhhhh. (I kept saying " I want one!" ). Remember that the Affection Section always closes at dusk.

Look Backstage - This is a very interesting group of attractions which include:

  • Animal Cam - Guests get the chance to see the animals in their backstage homes.
  • Animal Health & Care - A General Hospital for the Kingdom's Animals. This is no 'mock-up'. This is the real thing. The veterinary clinic complete with gleaming operating theatres, that is used to treat the animals who live in the park. As well as animal treatment, you can witness animal-friendly research and animal food preparation.
  • Eco Web - A computer and internet link to conservation organisations worldwide.
  • Rafiki's Planet Watch - Rafiki shows us all about endangered species on touch-screen computers.
  • Eco Heroes - Interactive videos that connect you to endangered animal information and world-famous biologists and conservationists.
  • Song of The Rainforest - Wow. You won't believe your ears when you step into the darkened booth, sit down and put on the headphones for a 3-D audio (a really advanced kind of surround-sound) journey into the rainforest. Sooooo relaxing. I felt like I'd just had a complete body massage! Lovely.
