Spaceship Earth

Travel through time inside Epcot's landmark to discover the history of communication. Your trip starts in the early cro-magnon period and merrily moves its way in around 15 mintes to the present day (and the future). During the trip in in the 16 million pound sphere, you'll pass through ancient Egypt, the Phoenician Empire, you'll brush with the Greeks (who invented the alphabet) and the Romans and Benedictine Monks. Onto the Renaissance and the Gothenburg Press before experienceing radio and television and computers. Phew. And all in 15 minutes! You can't miss it.....even it's just so you can tell your friends that you've been inside the landmark! After the ride, as you exit, take a look at the 'Global Neighborhood" exhibit. Presented (like the attraction itself) by AT& T, this is technology you can get your hands on. There are some state-of-the-art payphones here, great for calling home and making those left behind real jealous! (I'm so twisted.)
By the way, there's a link on the on my Spaceship Earth Photos page which will take you to a page of photos of the construction of the sphere itself (or you can click here). Fascinatin' stuff.
